Walking on the Edge of Eternity

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:
for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand:
let us therefore cast off the works of darkness,
and let us put on the armour of light.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness,
not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.”
Romans 13:11-14

Will you always walk alone?
So far away from the state of mind that you once knew as home?

Will you ever see the light?
Beyond the shadows of the trees that blind your eyes?

Will you hear that still small voice?
And make the choice to live or will you fade away and die?

Why can't you see, beyond the shadows of the trees?
Why can't you find, the answer to that mystery on your mind?

Don't you know that there is a fight and battle for your very soul?
So don't fall to sleep, or you will find your soul lost in the deep

Awaken now, before you slip into the darkness of eternity
I can show you how; if only you are willing then you shall see

You're walking on the edge of eternity
You’re walking on the edge, why can't you see?

You're walking on the edge of eternity
You're walking on a dangerous ledge

You're walking on the edge of eternity
You’re walking on the edge, you just can’t see?

You're walking on the edge of eternity
You're walking on a razor’s edge

The time is right to stand and fight
To push ahead with all your might

To take your place with no disgrace
And leave behind your wretched state of mind

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called,
and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”
1st Timothy 6:11-12
