Vows of a Bridegroom

“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing,
and obtaineth favour of the LORD.”
Proverbs 18:22

“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled:
but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”
Hebrews 13:4

With this Vow - I do Thee Wed
I promise to keep - undefiled our bed

To live together - after the Word of God
In a perpetual state of holy matrimony - to honour, cherish and love

For better or worse - in sickness, in health
For poorer or richer - in poverty, in wealth

To help and nourish – to work hard to provide
To protect and hold – in the dark of night

To keep warm in the cold - and to cloth with care
To hurt when you’re in pain - and to always be near

To be the Man of God – that you would expect
To know when to listen to your heart – and to give you your respect

To express to you – my heart in kind
To be your bestest friend – the truest that you can find

To love you true – to become one flesh in time
To give you my heart and soul – when yours becomes one with mine

To love you forever – to be your bridegroom true
I Vow to take Thee to be my Wife – Before God above “I DO.”

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:” Ephesians 5:25-29

“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge,
giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel,
and as being heirs together of the grace of life;
that your prayers be not hindered.”
1st Peter 3:7
