A Love that is
True
“A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh
ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.” Proverbs 12:4
“House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife
is from the LORD.” Proverbs 19:14
Lustful passions burn red
and the heart broken hurt blue
Thus outward beauty is vain
compared to a heart that is true
So if destiny is calling
my soul / spiritual help meet for me
She will be honest and faithful
and void of all treachery
She is as gentle as a Mother
holding her babe
And as guileless as a child
in a sand box at play
She is as mature as a tree
in the harvest of fall
And the fruits of her spirit
is that which makes her stand tall
Her heart it beats faster
at the sound of my voice
And she is submissive and obedient
by her own convictions and choice
She is holy and righteous
She loves and fears God above all
Thus she possesses wisdom and knowledge
Knowing that to be my wife she is called
She is not proud or domineering
but she is humble and meek
She abhors the bitterness of anger
for it’s God’s will that she seeks
She loves me at all times
and never does she hate
She is not jealous against others
but she lives by her faith
She does not envy the wicked
nor covet their greed
She prays trusting in God
to supply all of her needs
She is giving and merciful
sacrificial and kind
Thus she is full of grace and compassion
She is such a rare treasure to find
For she is not seeking for riches,
diamonds, money or gold
Thus she wears not those revealing fashions
that would prostitute her soul
She is committed to Jesus
thus she shall be faithful to me
Which means that her eyes shall not rove
for another man to see
She never sits idle
nor does she live life in vain
Her ways are not given to change
thus she shall cause me no pain
She is hard working and labors
for the good of her home
She builds her house wisely
and never does she roam
Thus I need not fear worry
where gone she might be
For with her there are no contradictions
because she truly loves me
She is that virtuous woman who wears a white robe
that only God above can see
Thus she will be faithful and true
and not out to deceive
For it’s not about what she did in her past
no matter how sinful she was
It is who she is now in Christ Jesus
after being washed in His blood
Thus some roses are red
and some violets are blue
Yet she is the woman I shall marry
For hers is a love that is true.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall
have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the
days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly
with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her
food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth
meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth
a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a
vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her
arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth
not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands
hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she
reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow
for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and
purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the
elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and
delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her
clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her
mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She
looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread
of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her
husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done
virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and
beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be
praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works
praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31:10-31
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in
love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an
offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But
fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be
once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor
foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather
giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean
person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance
in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with
vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon
the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with
them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the
Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in
all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is
acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful
works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even
to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all
things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for
whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake
thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give
thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but
as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be
ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And
be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the
Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving
thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of
our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the
fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as
unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as
Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be
to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives,
even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That
he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the
word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not
having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be
holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their
own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever
yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as
the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh,
and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and
mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one
flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and
the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love
his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her
husband. Ephesians 5:1-33
